6600's were AGP and PCIe I'm afraid.

So I'm right in my findings that the best PCI cards are Geforce 6200's and Radeon x1550's? I might be tempted to get the Radeon instead of the Geforce, but apparently the power requirements of the x1550 would make my computer implode.

What PSU are you using? You could step down and get a X1300 PCI.
