Because Doom 3 is a piece of shit game that instead of actually bothering to be scary, it just repeats "pitch black area, same monsters jumping out of the same crawlspaces or hidden closets every time, you can't shoot and use your flashlight at the same time, gogogogog". Incredibly boring and aggravating. It also ran like shit on my ATI.I got better FPS in Oblivion than Doom 3.

Oh yeah i know...But with mods you don't need do use the fucking flashlight!! Some mods will put the flashlight in the weapons so you don't need do bother about the pitch black crapbut you still have problems

God knows which ATI card you're using then. I have an X1300 and Doom 3 runs fine at medium settings and 800x600, other than some slight slowdown during the Hell levels.

Radeon x1300 is a modern card. It should be able to run a game as old as Doom 3 at waaay better than medium settings and 800x600. :\
