Yeah it's happened before. Luckily it was just the electricity that went away and nothing else.

My dad picked up two UPSes from work. Work like a charm.

We had a big storm thursday night. Lots of lightning, wind, etc. The power went off for a minute and reset everything in the house except for my computer. (battery backup)

Pissed my kids off. My son was playing WoW, and my daughters were playing the 360.

So, I told them, back in my day, we used to play with rocks and cow manure.

Then you turned back to playing games on your comp. ZING.

Oh, and cow manure is now known as Microsoft.

Back in the day I used to play football in my backyard during storms. My yard floods like crazy too.

You really couldn't beat Cow Manure 3.11 for Playgroups.

I've been thinking of getting an UPS. Though I'm not that desperate for electricity during a storm... But they work as good protection as well, right?

I used to play with rocks and sticks when I was a kid. Then mom and dad got me a Commodore 64 and later a NES. BIIIIIIIIIIG MISTAKE!

Reminds me that last week we had this big hailstorm. It didn't rain a bit here, but, 15 minutes a way, they were getting hit with iced golf balls. That storm hit on particular area of the city, along a boulevard where are located about a dozen car dealerships. Millions in damage. Lawl.

Cars that were 35-40 grands were sliced down by almost 7,000 bucks. :O

Indeed. Not only do they come with surge protectors, but they'll enable you to not smash your monitor in when losing data or progress in whatever.
