Naruto won't end until he becomes Hokage.
So, unless something happens to Tsunade at the end of the Akatsuki arc, Naruto's not coming to an end any time soon.
Also, it's still making a ton of money from merchandising/licensing--be stupid to end it now

Naruto becoming Hokage isn't guaranteed, though. Even if something happens to Tsunade. He be killed at the end during a huge battle, or by sacrificing himself somehow. Or maybe he'll die in a battle against Sasuke.

dunno, seems like something that would happen in Naruto, seeing as they like the whole ''friend'' gimmick thing

You can cover alot in 30 minutes of the anime.
Hell, one episode of the anime covered 2 chapters of the manga on average.
Things like this are why most anime tends to stray away from the original source material.

Yeah, but I think that whole fight between Haku and Sasuke in the mirrors lasted about a page in the manga, how long was it in the anime?

that was probably the best Arc Naruto has ever had. Everything went smoothly, i don't remember anything boring about it. Now you take shippuuden and compare it to the older episodes, it's pretty damn shocking.

sadly, i feel the Zabusa saga(forgive my spelling) was the best 20 episodes of the entire anime, other than the filler episodes, which were all full of action and some actually had some decent fights...

I agree that a few of the fillers were good, but c'mon, they don't compare to the Chuunin exam arc or the Sauke betrayal arc.

im mainly thinking of the "Soup of life" arc, and the "Sasuke Betrayal" arc, which i consider filler.
anything after the start of the naruto/sasuke fight is filler imo.
chuunin exam arc took like what 50 episodes?
should have been like 20 at most...

How can you possibly find the Sasuke Betrayal arc filler?
It's one of, if not the most, important parts of the story.
They cannot just rush through the episodes, as if they are going to stay faithful to the manga, they have to spread it out a bit.
And the Chunin Exam was only 37 episodes.
