No they're mandatory. The studio (and the source manga as well) simply cannot have a Naruto episode with out long pauses and stares in between fights. So it's become a mandatory element in Naruto (and the majority of shounen series as well.) Of course, that doesn't mean I like it, I just grew immune to its monotony.

This is the fault of all you people who whined and bitched about how much the fillers sucked.

Now, we're getting constant filler moments throughout non-filler episodes, which are making the non-filler episodes less enjoyable.

And you just know that we're still going to get a few filler episodes here and there anyway.

But because they're constantly stretching everything out, it makes the story take longer to be told whether it has action in or not.

And when it takes too long for the story to be told, the story gets boring.

Not really. Manga chapters are released every week on Fridays. That's pretty good to me.

Edit: Although it would be nice if the chapters were longer.

A chapter week is just fine. However, they should extent the damn chapters. It seems sometimes they barely cover anything in one chapter. =\

Previously thats what I thought too that the Manga chapters were quite small, but then on the other hand, if they start making them longer, the quality of the story might start deteriorating, which would actually be bad Its overall better if things are not rushed, at least in case of the Manga, which I actually enjoy more than the Anime these days
