The only worthwhile melodeath song that's not by Amon Amarth.

I can't agree with that. I'm not fond of much melodeath, but there's several good albums out of the genre. A lot more than several if we consider the borderline-melodic early swedish bands.

Shit. If we took the best album In Flames have ever released and completely ignored the whore-outs they've been releasing since 2000, they still wouldn't be top of their own scene. Let alone a country.

Whenever someone brings up In Flames I do my little "In Flames? Here, have a grammy. Ha Ha Ha!" thing. I'm the only one laughing but, oh, am I laughing.

I'm not really fond of melodeath either, since the genre is marred by loads of shit and it's only the early stuff that's worthwhile (early In Flames and Dark Tranquility.) There's Dissection, Arsis and Amon Amarth as well but besides those, the music bores me to tears.
