almost everything will either run perfectly straight on vista, or run nearly perfectly under compatibility mode for XP or 98.

I like XP Media Center Edition because it handles MP3 players much better than regular XP. Between all of us, there's 6 MP3 players in this house, and I only had to install software for one of them...the rest are picked right up by Windows.
