    Default someone plz explain to me what my problem is

    I have 2 separate computers and they both do the same thing. I download like a 32x game and run it on kega fusion. The graphics are choppy and slow and the same goes for the sound. Its still choppy and slow when i disable sound, i've played with all the options with no avail. Read everything that i can possibly can to improve the speed of the application. (this includes everything from 32x up like n64, playstation ect)

    My computer is old, But most of the system reqirements supposedly say a 500mhz processor is sufficient (cept for ultrahle) i have a junk onboard video card 64mb and onboard sound card. Again i have 500mhz pentium 2 with 190 mbram. btw windows xp pro version with all recent updates. I even tried using the glide wrappers and no dice.

    what really bothers me is i have no problems whatso ever running pc games like diablo 2 or hitman. Which are higher quality of graphics and sound than these 15yr old systems. which i love don't get me wrong.

    however i don't have any significant slowdown while playing regular sega, snes or nes.

    any help would be great, .......... i'm about to buy new computer neways

    That's the problem. Windows XP requires 256MB of RAM just for Windows, so when you run other applications, it has to swap information to the hard drive because it runs out of memory...resulting in choppy graphics.

    why have i never had this problem before with running other pc games, like i said i play diablo 2, hitman , rollercoaster tycoons ect ect

    http://www.pcdirect.com/container.as...%2DSYS%2DEL775

    that's basically what i want but instead of dual core i just want standard 3.3 ghz pentium but its like half the price if you build with there custom option forwhatever reason from a barebones kit

    and i already got decent video card that i can't even use in the POS computer im using now

    They're designed to be run on a PC, and they're all pretty old with low requirements. Emulating is a CPU-taxing process, and while you might have enough CPU power to meet the requirements, and you may even meet the Emulator RAM requirements, with Windows XP you lose all that...XP's minimum requirement for RAM is 256...it will run on less, but not well, and not when you add in a heavy program like an Emulator.

    I bought a better computer than what you're using for $5 at a flea market in new jersey last summer.
    Yeah. At the very least, get some extra RAM.
    And those minimum requirements are only for running the operating system itself. That's it. A default windows XP SP2 installation takes up about 200 MB on boot, just by itself. You need moar RAM. Don't try to argue that you don't, because you do, and there's no magic fix around it. Go find a 256 MB of SD-RAM and stop complaining.
    As I was walking down the stair,
    I met a man who wasn't there.
    He wasn't there again today.
    I wish, I wish he'd go away.

    Hitman:
    System Requirements
    Processor: 1.5GHz
    RAM: 512MB
    DVD Only?: 1
    Hard Drive Space: 5GB
    Operating System: Windows 2000/XP
    DirectX Version: 9.0

    Diablo II:
    Single-Player PC System Requirements:

    * Windows® 2000*, 95, 98, or NT 4.0 Service Pack 5
    * Pentium® 233 or equivalent
    * 32 MB RAM
    * 650 MB available hard drive space
    * 4X CD-ROM drive
    * DirectX™ compatible video card

    With on-board graphics, you can barely run Diablo II. I mean, I have a shitty computer myself, and I can run it, but that's about it.

    My bad, didn't think about that one.

    Anyhow, I can run 32X games fine with a P3 500MHz, on-board graphics, and... oh my, ~500 MB of RAM. Could be everyone was right. :O

    Which make me think... 32X games are utter shit. Don't even bother.
