Hmm, the nes emulators for DS don't do this?
I've been reading about the M3 and something called a Passkey. I'm a little confused as I read through the descriptions of it online. I know the passkey is needed in order to run DS games with it. Do I need the passkey for GBA, NES etc. on it?

The R4 and M3 Simply have built-in Passme support so they can be used to run NDS software from the GBA slot.
[EDIT]
So what's wrong with scaling a spite based game anyway? Some of the NES and SNES games have already been ported to GBA and they look just as good (or bad) as the originals just on a smaller screen. Also that's what I was talking about when I said screen size. The PSP does have a larger screen resolution then the NDS and if I'm not mistaken it has a 16:9 aspect ratio (another clue that it was made with multimedia in mind and not really for games).

i'm pretty sure it was made for games but also has support for 16:9 which has nothing to do with multimedia... are you saying all next gen consoles are not focused on games because they all support 16:9, 16:9 is just a natural progression.
did you ever use a nes emu on the gba here is an example http://www.pocketnes.org/res.html
no what i am saying is that if you only have the flash cart for slot 2 (aka the gba slot) you can only play gba roms, and emulators built for the gba such as pocketnes.
with a passkey you can use emulators that are made using the ds's processing power and also play gba roms.
The Passme lets you use a GBA flash card to run NDS roms and software from the GBA slot. This includes all NDS homebrew and such. Commercial roms have to be patched to run this way though. Without the Passme you can only run GBA roms and other GBA base homebrew such as GBA emulators (emulators that run other system's games on the GBA) like pocketnes like Brightside said.
