    You have to buy very good quality discs. I've never tried Verbatim, but I know the blue Fugifilm DVD-R 30min/1.4GB discs work perfectly. There's also the possibility you need to adjust the OHMs on the Potentiometer for the laser. That alone sounds scary, but it's extremely easy to do. You need a screwdriver and a mulltimeter. It takes like 10 seconds to do it after you disassemble (which only consists of taking the top cover off, and taking out the 4 screws holding the laser assembly in.

    Yeah, I checked the DVD dye and I ran DVD identifier, it said it was MCC something something, but it's from Mistubishi and I checked some pages, it said it was a good dye.

    I might try that, I only need to do that melted biro thing.
