Just stay out of his range. If you're getting king'd, you need to pick off stray peices instead of "charging the base". The king can barely move. It's the queen that you should be worrying about.

Curiously, the Queen always falls aganist me, but yeah, I tend to get all Leonidas when playing.

And that's the problem. Unless you're really planning things out a slow method of picking off pawns and the occasional large peice before setting up a block of the king is the best route.

I was going to say the high speed chases during which the entire area falls apart around you. Or the awesome kills added to the combat system.

But yes, the soundtrack was pretty cool.
