I'm going to have him take the laptop (that works) into the living room and plug it into the same wire for his PC. If it works, then I know the computer is the problem. If it kills the whole connection, it must be the wire running in there...but that doesn't make sense either, because the Xbox360 will connect and we've been using the same wire for it.

Yeah, if the port works fine otherwise, then the computer is the problem. As for the wire being an issue, it would either work or not work at all.

But, to be able to pinpoint the issue within the computer... Go fish.

I already replaced the DSL Modem/Router
