Didn't MJ die in the cartoon...Twice? First she drowned and second she evaporated after it was revealed that she was a clone. This was a few years back 'til they started showing repeats of the series again. I think the last one showed Spiderman and Kingpin battling Venom-Carnage who had created a portal above the building, which would lead to the destruction of the world. After that, it said "To Be Continued..." but they started showing the old episodes again.
Also, MJ's death would make sense for Kirsten not appearing in the next movie, as well as paving the way for Harry Osbourne to be the main villain as Green Goblin. Somthing which should have happened earlier IMO, although people beg to differ, saying Venom's entrance would have been too early in the second film. I always thought Doctor Octopus to be kind of lame but he proved to be a good show in the film. I never heard of Sandman prior to the production of the third film, either (or I couldn't remember).

If we're thinking of the same one, the first "death" was really her just being transported to some other dimension. Apparently the best place to travel between worlds is at the bottom of a river. . The series ended when they were reunited after stopping a carnage infected spider man from blowing up the universe. Or something of that nature.

Also, I see GG2 (or HG, as I believe they're calling him now) dying in this one, probably at the hands of a venom altered spider man. It'd probably be the whole "WTF is wrong with me?" point in that whole thing where he finally decides to ditch the goo. Although the death of sandman is also likely, but if he becomes the cause of spiderman's realization he's getting mindfucked, it would be kind of off. Seeing as sandman is apparently a major bad guy in the movie storyline and a dude he really shouldn't feel bad about owning.

All others are pretty much useless IMO. Since you don't have Dknight, go back and get it. It's got some nice HP and attack boosts.

EDIT- I also seem to recall those super Dress spheres working well here. Maybe using that two sphere SG to quickly change would work?
