I have minor surgery in exactly a month, and it will take place at a clinic.

Yes, money would be flowing in. From the private clinics. Which suddenly makes them seem a little more promising to the doctors. And since people are paying for this service, you'd think the better staff would be involved in there. Also the staff may end up getting a cut of the profit from the operations or procedures. While staff may be shared with a "public" hospital, it just seems like things would somehow end up unbalanced.

Doctors would still be paid by the governments. See "private" clinics aren't entirely private, for the mere fact people around here can't afford it, and so make it impossible for them to have any form of income whatsoever. If you sell something people can't afford while they already pay for something similar, you won't get anywhere, hence the need for it to be minor surgeries and the likes. Technically, as far as I see it, to make things alright, there would have to be no difference between the salary given to the public and private staff. Which makes me think this whole thing would only serve as a disguised "pay to get ahead of the list" deal. Something that doesn't really bother me. Also, think of dentists. They aren't covered by public health insurance, and yet you still see people going there. Why? Because your health has its price, and it doesn't have to be taken care of by the others who watch themselves while you don't. Of course, this doesn't apply to everything and everyone, namely the elders and those who suffer from cancer and other things like it. You won't see me feeling bad for some fat bastard getting heart problems because he can't shut his trap and eat better. Bitch, please.

So these "private clinics" would be supported and run solely on money taken from the rich folks? I'm not completely sure how that'll work. Especially considering how costly a lot of procedures are. Which would then cause people to reconsider going to the private clinic, pretty much eliminating the purpose. I'm sure these clinics would have to be supported in some way by tax dollars. Money that would have once went to the public hospitals.

Also, if you manage the finances better and stop giving more money to nurses and doctors (come on, no one is more competent when they receive more money, that's BS), maybe you could manage to send some money to the so-called private clinics.

I agree fully with that one. Although in some cases these "problems" actually could be something worse than they first appear. I guess it kind of depends on the case and everything. But yes, simple clinics would be a good idea in a lot of cases.

There's also what is called a "moderating ticket". You pay 5-10 bucks whenever you feel the need to bother people in the emergency. Hey, no one is gonna be bankrupt over it, and that would mean more cash, as well as being an incentive to use the full spectrum of the public health care system.

*cough* yeah. Bullshit alright. Sure the idea makes sense, not having an overworked doctor doing surgery, but the quotas need to be raised or altered based on how skilled/prepared the surgeon is. Simple surgery isn't exactly brain surgery. Literally.

Yeah, like they can't know if they can do it. It's not like they'd get paid more if they worked more. They'd actually work for their salary. How nice.
