Diablo.
Neverwinter Nights.
Icewind Dale.
Baldur's Gate.

I've never played any of 'em. And they're just sitting there, waiting, telling me how awesome everyone says they're supposed to be...

Have you tried them? They're actually pretty good. Rayman may be a side scroller, but it's well made. Shrek may be, well, Shrek, but it's a good kart style racer. And yes, I am desperate for a new game

yep, not what I was expecting at all, the reviews said it would be full of mini-games. It does have some mini-games in it, but they are after you complete a level, and don't really get in the way of gameplay.
