Whenever I have the volume over a certain level it is scratchy sounding. Is there a way to get around this, because it really ruins the quiet parts of movies and music.
prob crap speakels©Rydia 2007,i used to have a shit pair that picked up a country station when nothing was playing... or it could be you soundcard. Most likely the speakels©Rydia 2007 though :eyeball:
Edit: try some other speakels©Rydia 2007 or earspeakels©Rydia 2007 to test out my theory!!
Well, it's not the speaker because it does that with all my headphones and such too. The scratchy sounds aren't as bad when I plug my headphones straight into the computer, but they are still there. It is really getting anoying too. Wait what? Speakels, I don't even know what that is. Seriously though, a quick easy fix would be nice, why can't everything be easy.

I don't know if I want to spend any money to fix this. It's not really that bad when I plug my headphones straight into the comupter. Is it normal to hear some sound when nothing is supposed to be making noise though?
EDIT: It also only occurs when I have the volume up pretty loud. I don't know if that is normal or if a new soundcard would fix that.

It could be that the connection in the soundcard is dodgy, and when you plug shit in, the aren't connecting properley.
Get a new soundcard.
I think that the sound is part of the motherboard. A geforce 6100 with integrated graphics and sound, does that make sense? I am pretty sure that the drivers are up to date too. To try and clarify further, I am saying that the sound, when turned up kind of loud, is scratchy when nothing is planing. When something is playing it sounds fine, but during quiet parts of songs the scratching can be heard. Would I be able to buy a new soundcard and use that instead of the onboard sound?
It's noise. Buy a new sound card.
Best bang for the buck?
