    Default Ehrgeiz has a problem

Ok the download works perfectly, but what IS the problem is that the file that comes outta the RARs.It's not a playable file,at least i cant play it.Can the file that comes out of the RARs is jus that.....a file, not an ISO or an IMG or even a BIN.So i was wondering if it was possible to get a re post of Ehrgeiz with a working file?

Are you sure you have windows set to display file endings (I have no idea how familiar you are with windows, and this is a normal thing people forget)? Like this:

If you have endings displayed, try RENAMING to .bin .iso or .img and see if it runs.

It should be a Bin file.

    Open any folder.
Go to View > Folder Options > View tab > and uncheck "Hide file extensions for known file types"

Now check the extracted Ehrgeiz files for their extensions.

    "Ehrgeiz-NTSC

    681,217KB"

    So, there's only one file?

Then it's most likely either a .bin file that's missing it's cue file, or an .iso.

    Try this:

rename the file to .iso, then mount it to Daemon Tools or some other virtual drive, then try playing it in ePSXe from there.

If you don't know how to use Daemon Tools, then follow these instructions:

Download Daemon Tools 3.47 from here (it's free): http://www.filehippo.com/download_daemon_tools/?236
Make sure you get 3.47, and NOT the newest one.

First, install and configure Daemon Tools to create a virtual drive on your computer. After doing that you should see a small icon in your system tray that looks like a lightning bolt. Right-click on that lightning bolt, choose "Options", and make sure there's a check mark next to "Analog Audio". <--- very important

Now this time left-click the lightning bolt icon, and click where it says "Device ## No Media", then choose either the .ccd, .mds, or .cue file by double-clicking it.

Now, for ePSXe if you haven't already installed P.E.Op.S. CDR plugin, then get it from here:
    http://www.pbernert.com/html/cdr.htm

And unzip the contents to your ePSXe plugin folder.
Now open ePSXe by double-clicking it, and click Config > Cdrom > Select P.E.Op.S. CDR Driver 1.4 > Configure.
For Interface, if you have Win98 or WinME, then choose W9X/ME - ASPI scsi commands
For Interface, if you have Win2000 or WinXP, then choose W2K/XP - IOCTL scsi commands.
For Drive: choose Generic DVD Rom V1.0
For Read Mode: Try Auto Detection.
    Leave everything else alone.

Now you're ready to play the game.
Start ePSXe, go to File > Run CDROM.
    And your game should start.

    Default Still no....

Ok i tried a few things and i still couldn't get it to work.

I would love to try your way,but i cant get the EPSXE to config video for some reason. So i been usein PSX_1_10.

I did put the ISO into the Daemon tools though, but i downloaded whatever one was at the site cause i got it about 4 days ago.

And when i looked at the contents i say many BINs so i tried to copy them to my hard drive,BUT it said that every file BUT the BINs were messed up,so maybe that could be the problem.

PSX game images do contain BIN files. You're not meant to run the game from the .BINs inside of the disc image.

If the RAR was split for example like this "Ehregeiz.part01.rar", etc. Did you right click -> extract here, on the first RAR? extracting from other RARs can result in you getting only some of the files, and not all.

Results sound like the image is fucked. So get another one....

This seems to be the only version with Ehrgeiz where the links aren't dead.

Very interesting that is about da PSX disks.

I did extract from the first "part 1" of the ehrgeiz file and it still came out broke.

I know its a ISO file just rename it .iso and it should work is what i do.

Edit scrap what i said before you can play it just fine with epsxe 1.6 make it so that it sees all files when you are opening a file and then click on it and it should run perfectly its what i do all the times and the rar files only has one file and its that one.

    Love knows no bounds.

As a cryptography and computer security expert, I have never understood the current fuss about the open source software movement. In the cryptography world, we consider open source necessary for good security; we have for decades. Public security is always more secure than proprietary security. It's true for cryptographic algorithms, security protocols, and security source code. For us, open source isn't just a business model; it's smart engineering practice.

I am having the same problem. No matter what I rename on the end (.bin, .iso) it doesn't change.

Try all that was suggested in this thread to run the image file.
If nothing works, then make a new thread in the Sony Section forum (Everything Emulation forum). This is an old thread and it's better to open a new one to find a solution for your problem.
