The guy at the sports thread, I think he's a troll, or something...
Oh, yeah he does seem to fit the mold.![]()
You don't understand the people around here. I am often asked to tone it down by my friend at his college because the people there will cry if they hear the word fuck. Or even shit, or anything slightly bad.
Not my college, my friends. I would NEVER go to this place. Fucking uptight pricks. His roomate was forced by the school to cover up an Into the Blue poster with tape because of Jessica Alba in a bikini. And I would love to yell through some loud speakers. Fuckers wouldn't know what hit them.
This is the poster.

btw Jessica Alba is pretty hot.
I follow your point, If not the implication that believing in a higher power is to blindly follow something that someone told you was right, without questioning it. I know that you're don't mean it that way. At least not beyond applying it to the girls you're talking about. They do come across as mindless followers who only believe what they believe because they were force-fed it. It just brings up a point that, oddly enough, I was just thinking about.
I believe in God, see. And I'm nothing, if not a independant, inquisitive-minded person. I question everything all the time, because I can't be content with being just another sheep who does what he's told, and believes everything that's forced on him, just because it's the way the world works. The thing about me and God though, is that I believe in Him because of the life I've led up to now. I lack the skill to articulate it very well, but the point here is that I don't believe in him because I was raised as a Christian or anything like that. It wasn't forced on me to believe in a Higher Power. Noone came up to me and said "Here's a Bible, son. Practice what it preaches and ye shall be saved!".
I do, however, think that despite what the Bible says about spreading the word, you can only take it so far. You don't need to tell people what to believe. You can share what you believe, and let them go from there. Life should damn-well be about choices. That's something I agree with you about 100%. There's nothing wrong with believing, but believe because it's what you want, not what someone told you that you should do.
If there was a point to this, I've long-since lost it. I'm tired as hell, and I really should try getting some sleep. I've got a long day ahead of me. The job-hunt continues.
I love what you just said there. It really is the same way that I feel. I don't dislike them because they believe in God. I dislike them because it is something that they have never looked into. They just believe it because they were told to do so and they look down on others who do not. I also believe in some sort of higher power. I haven't decided what I think about Christianity yet, but it is something that I will further explore and look in to. I fully believe that one should always question everything. By questioning something, we gain understanding.
Now I must rest. I have class tomorrow and homework still to be completed.
Fuck, are people still going on about this religion crap?
people, there is a god.
And he stands before you.
All hail me.
Now, I'm going to need about 100 virgins and 200 slutty girls. And beer. LOTS of beer. And who do I have to damn around here to get a fucking pizza delivered?
/gone again
Woa, cool. Thanks for that.
Yeah, I didn't get that you hated them because they were Christians, but because despite their questionable morals, they choose to hide behind Christianity when it was likely something they were told to believe. And that on top of them sucking for being terrible people, you find it reprehensible that they blindly believe something, instead of choosing to question it.
Faith isn't a bad thing. Blind faith is and entirely different can-o-worms.
Take it easy, man. I should get to bed too, I really should. I just can't sleep for one reason or another. Insomnia sucks. I have a whole lot on my plate, and it's hard to put it out of mind. That keeps me up all night.![]()
