Wii:
729 MHz CPU
243 MHz GPU
24 MB IT-SRAM, 64 MB GDDR3 SRAM (88 MB total)
3 MB GPU texture emeory
PS2:
294/299 MHz CPU
147 MHz GPU
32 MB RDRAM
4 MB Embedded DRAM
I don't quite think that the PS2 is near the Wii's power.
Yeah, I agree this isn't the place for such bickering. Still, any Wii thread will invariably start out okay, then a few posts in someone (usually polo) will pop in with the "LOL GRAFFIX" and "WII CAN'T DO TEH UBER HI-REZ", then a Wii fan (usually me, sometimes Cyber) will come to the Wii's defense and it goes downhill from there. That's just how Wii threads seem to work anymore.
I will say that the Wii is the most fun I've had playing a video game in a while,
the graphics on zelda look good enough to me.
I own the console and am very happy with it.
Thats it,
all other opinions cant sway the way I feel about it,
and if you want my honest opinion its a fucking ace console.
my wii looks pretty gangsta on our new big up hd tv. and i havent even got the hd cables yet!!! so even with sub par cables it still looks supha fly.
^ too much SPAM
OK got my Wii now, though not realy played it much yet
Both the GameCube Action Replay and the Max Drive Pro do not boot in the Wii, they are not recognised as GC software at all
P.S. I'm using a PAL version of the Wii

On the seventh dawn of the seventh day a twice-blessed man will roam the fields. Doomed to shadows with his brethren, or saviour to all who walk the ground.
I also read that the Wii SD card slot can't be read with GC software, you need to be using a GameCube SD mem card adaptor that plugs into the GC mem card slot for GC SDLoad to work with the expliot

Awwww that really sucks for pal users,
Half my GC games are pal,
and ive been playing them on my yank wii with an ar.
Have you tired a pal freeloader to boot the AR?
I know that AR includes freeloader but its worth a try maybe.
I'm using a PAL Action Replay, and none of the versions for those work whereas the latest NTSC version might work. Anyway what we're all hoping for is that when the AR for the Wii is released it will have a section for the GC too for both cheats and Freeloader. Don't expect it to come out anytime soon though.

My GS AR is PAL v1.15, I think I have an older version aswell so I'll test that aswell when I and if I find it.
Because both the AR and Max Drive will just not boot at all there is no way to use the Freeloader function that is part of the AR either.
I'm not realy upset though I do own a GC aswell and nothing will run any differently anyway.
Though I have read there is some work being done through SDLoad to access Wii disc's, so far only ID's have been found, it's too early though to expect anything from that just yet.
Anyway it seems that Nintendo are blocking the software, for those currently using that exploit and want to keep using it, it might be best to not update online... I checked today at work for updates, seems mine is already fully updated.

Also, sorry for the double post here, but I'd like to add something that I've seen asked here and there:
How to play MP3 files on your Wii:
Okay, so I'm sure some of you have read that the Wii can play mp3's. It in fact can, though it option to is not clearly visible. Here's how to do it.
1. Make sure you have a SD card with mp3 files in the Wii's SD card slot, and a few pictures as well (JPEG format).
2. From the Wii Channels main menu, select the Photo Channel.
3. From here, select "Digital Camera/Cell Phone" then "View".
4. Now, click "Slide Show" at the bottom left corner.
5. Wait for the slide show to start, then select "Settings".
6. From this menu, select "Choose Song" from the "Music" heading.
7. From here you will be taken to a listing of the mp3 files on your SD card.
8. Select the mp3 you wish to play. Simple as that!
