The guitarist who took lessons with Satriani was the same guy who went into Primus, Ler LaLonde. I think he played guitar while a member of Possessed too. The Primus bass player, Les Claypool, went to school with Kirk Hammet and also auditioned to replace Cliff Burton in Metallica. Apprently he was too funky

PsyOpus is tech-death. And when I mean technical... holy fuck, they're technical. They sound a bit grind-ish sometimes too, but I really don't know if you'd like them. I do though. And they're quite a new band, with their only release being released in 2004 (Ideas of Reference), so Derek Roddy was definately in his prime even during that time. I need to know if this is true

Toxic Holocaust is pretty good shit as well. Good black/thrash. Songs are usually short and repetitive but in the end its above average fun stuff. Nothing special, nothing new, but still good.

I'm not a fan of grind so I could care less for Nasum as well as Gorerotted. I did hear the Ahnold album by Gorerotted (Promised To Kill You Last I Lied... I think it was called). Other than a few of Ahnold sound clips, it was a waste of my time...
I'm quite positive I'm going to like Nasum, as I'm huge on thrashy political themed grind/death like Napalm Death, Extreme Noise Terror, Terrorizere, Rotten Sound and stuff. What I never liked is goregrind like Mortician, Haemorrage, or early Carcass, it's fun but just too silly at times. It's got that uber sloppyness you love in old thrash, doesn't it?

I'm sure you know that Toxic Holocaust played in Brooklyn along with Rigor Mortis and a couple of other thrash metal bands not long ago, I still hate myself for not going.

Nasum thrashy...? No. They did kick ass, though.

I really like Cult of Luna. It's kind of hard to label their music, but I guess it is something like sludge/doom. Very heavy stuff...

The magazine I got was raving about diSEMBOWELMENT, Australia-based doom/drone band that used to play grindcore in the past. What a change, eh? The magazine also had an article on Bongzilla, which looks like an interesting band. Don't know if they're better than Cephalic Carnage, though.

Anyone heard of Rumpelstiltskin Grinder? Are they any good? I hear they're supposedly members of some gang, and that they play some thing in the vein of Kreator and Anthrax.

Haha... If you wanna annoy the fuck out of people (mainly your family), hang around them and start humming the starting riff for Powers That Be by Hate Eternal. Do it right now if you don't believe me. The cool thing is that if you know the song, you like doing it, but if they don't know it, it'll drive them to an asylum. It'll annoy them, trust me. DO IT!

Playing it on guitar along with "Praise of the Almighty" already drives my brother into insanity. But not as much as when I play that godawful racket "Tunnel of Ions" by Wormed.

Wow, Tunnel of Ions would be the ultimate mindfuck (sorry, stole it from your name, Soeru ) for annoying people.

Have you heard Rotten Sound's other album other than Exit? I was surprised at how hard they are to find, but fuck, they were worth all the wait. They're all just as good as Exit imo.

No worries, I got "Ultimate Mindfuck" from the goofy hilarious introduction to a very cool porn movie I have.

Yeah, I've listened to Murderworks and From Crust til' Grind as well, good stuff. True, I can't find some of their older works either.

    Must check out Nasum...

If you want Rotten Sound's Drain and Under Pressure I'm gonna upload them to Kerrazy soon (I'll confirm what hour when I do it) since I just learned how to make torrents If you want I can title it request fill for Soeru to make you feel special even though you didn't request it

I don't have From Crust Til Grind. Is it grind or crust... or both?

I've heard like 5 random Nasum songs. They're pretty good I'd say, and I didn't even get popular songs, just random ones.

Nah it's alright, I have Drain and Under Pressure. From Crust til Grind has really gritty production, sounds like an old grind album. It reminds me a bit of Repulsion, sounds a bit different from modern Rotten Sound.

Cool shit, that. Krisiun are also working on a new one, Max Kolense sais it's going to be different, "groovy", and more creative. Can't wait to see what it's like, they definately need a breath of fresh air.

There are rumors of the original Sepultura reforming... anyone know anything about this?

I'm getting a lot into Atheist recently, as well as later Death. I never thought I'd like anything with "progressive" in the genre name, but I guess I was wrong, this stuff is fun. Now if I could only get to like Dream Theater...

There's a whole bunch of sweet new bands with releasesa soon. Kalmah, Wintersun, Ensiferum, Krisiun, Zyklon etc.

Never heard Atheist. Can you tell me some of their best songs, or just their best album?

I downloaded every single Death album, and even though I'm always reading that they're one of the all-time best death metal bands, I can't get myself to listen to them. Maybe I should hear a song first

Nope, nothing on Sepultura that I've heard.
