Help with Chankast 0.25 lagging...

I've tried nearly everything. I have an image of Jet Grind Radio, and the emulator works fine...until the start screen, where the FPS goes down the drain and the sound sounds all choppy, although the FPS starts to drop at the "now loading" screen just before the start screen.

Zwrite/Alpha Zwrite/Capcom Hack won't speed it up. According to many people it should work fine (it's on the compatibility list for Chakast), but it hasn't for me.

Here are the specs of my machine:
Pentium 4 2.6 Ghz
ATI Radeon 9200 SE
1.5 gigs of RAM
Windows XP

I have not tried any other emulators or images.

Any help at all?

I'd say that it still works fine, albeit slow for me, too. I've tried altering the CPU emulation speed with the +/- keys on the numpad, that didn't help much either.
I guess that's just the extent of DC emulation, currently. Hope for a new release, as I do.

Working fine and running at it's full FPS are not the same thing

Chankast is the only emulator worth using but there is a hack for Chankast to speed things up a bit but your beter off buying a 2nd hand Dreamcast and most can play backups without modding

EU models all play backups (selfboot or booted with Utopia)
US models made at and before October 2000 play backups, but those US models made after require modding (data/data selfboot games work for some still though I beleive)

But wouldn't an immense slowdown of both graphics and sound be an indicator that something is going wrong? And vice versa?

And I guess I am better off getting a Dreamcast, but by all reports JGR should work fine with Chankast...

Maybe someone who has Chankast Utilities 0.25a could upload it to Rapidshare?

Chankast doesn't run full speed on any game i've played except Sega Smash Pack. I just ended up buying a dreamcast again after my first one died 2 years ago... I bought it 5 months ago and i'm still playing it.

And wait, if every game you've tried hasn't been running at top speed, and I always see JGR on every compatibility list (one of the ones that always run fine), then what exactly is their definition of compatible?

Compatable = It runs at a playable speed, so more than just 1 or 2 FPS but less than full speed.... end of story

Ikaruga runs about full speed but has glitches then again the same game is one of the only ones that runs at all with the GameCube emulators and runs about full speed in that aswell
