i'd say try other video plugins and mess around with their options. also, try mounting them on virtual drives and see if it'll run using the cd drive plugin.

Experiment with the video settings in your epsxe. If nothing works try changing the .iso into another format like bin/cue.

Are you sure your image is intact?

Did you scan it with CD Mage, just to make sure?
    What BIOS are you using?
    What Sound Driver you using?

Also, nobody cares how many games work perfectly. Every game does something a little different
and no matter how many games work perfectly your eventually gonna run into one that
    dosn't work with your config.

It seems like you are purposely giving us as little to go on as possible.

Try these plugins, I have had no problem with their configuration. The bios your using is very good. Another bios to use, correct me if I'm wrong but I think it was SCPH_7502.BIN, that is supposed to another good bios choice.

You might wanna try Eternal SPU.

This problem dosn't seem to be very common for this game.. The only instances I can find of where this occurs are

    1. A bad Image
    2. An unpatched Image.

As I now read that you were having extraction problems, I strongly suggest you scan your image for errors.

    Hello guys
I just wanted to say I'm having the very same problem. I also wanna add that I tried all the games that I downloaded on ePSXe and they all worked. Maybe u think that FF8 is not compatible with my config, but i managed to d/l a Disc3 image (from a MegaUpload mania post) (only d/l disc3 cuz it was the only working link u_u
Anyway, the disc3 image worked perfectly, so I don't think it's a Configuration problem. Is there any chance that this image is damaged?
I also tried the emulator that Gryfox posted with it's configuration, and still get a black screen
    What going on?
