Nothing really, I don't celebrate it.

Still I would like to go out of the country side to the city and go see my family. They have turkey, and cheese

I'm just wondering how it doesn't make a difference? Every little bit helps, it's true sometimes not all the money gets to the people it needs to but if some does that's better than nothing. My family had supported a little girl from somewhere in South America(I forget where exactly). Eventually her family was able to move out of the impovrished area into an area where they no longer needed support. It depends on who you give the money to though. World Vision IMO is the best. They keep you updated which is very nice.

Right now I don't give any money, I'm saving to move out by next year since the school I want to go to is in Toronto(damn expensive). But I wouldn't hesistate to do it again that's for sure.

After hearing of all the shit the PSP can do, I decided that I needed to have one. Screw the 360, the only interesting game it has is Perfect Dark Zero. I shall not count TES: Oblivion, as it is also being released for the PC. I also want a drawing tablet for the PC, as well as a bunch of games for the gaming season (Twilight Princess, We Love Katamari, and a few others that I have yet to think up).

Of course, it's probably the only thing I'll be getting. Last year's birthday/holiday conversations turned immediately to cut-off ages for gift-giving (and happened to coincide with my age, by some strange coincidence). On the other hand, my gifts from last year (gift certificates) sat in my wallet for half a year before I remembered I still had them...

PSP is awesome . Make sure to get a 1.50 or 2.0(so you can downgrade) though. Good choice!

Yeah you should watch which charitys you give too. Here in England they set up a charity for hospitals, only for us to find they had spent the 2,000,000 on expensive (and questionable) art. Like the 70,000 they paid for a "large polished pebble"

Also in Britain, organizers of a major television charity event were embarrassed when it was discovered that out of 6.5 million pounds (about $10 million, U.S.) sent in to help build new orphanages in Romania, only 12 substandard houses were ever built, and hundreds of thousands of dollars went unaccounted for. Negative reports like these have rightly caused some donors to become more cautious about how much they contribute and to whom.

AFTER the attacks of September 11, 2001, in New York City and Washington, D.C., public support for the victims of the tragedy was remarkable. Charities were overwhelmed by $2.7 billion in donations to help care for the victims families. Shocked by the extent of the devastation, people everywhere wanted to help.

The mood of some of the public quickly soured, however, when allegations surfaced that prominent charities were misappropriating funds. There was a flood of outrage at the report that one large charity planned to hold back nearly half of the $546 million it received and use it for other purposes. Although the organization later reversed its decision and apologized,

Over 200 years ago, Samuel Johnson, the English essayist, wrote: You are much surer that you are doing good when you pay money to those who work, as the recompense of their labour, than when you give money merely in charity.

It would be a shame, however, to allow the actions of a few individuals or organizations to squelch our genuine concern and compassion for others. Just make sure you read about a charity before giving to it. Since charity can do alot of good if it is not abused.

Wuss, I've been thinking about Christmas for months now. But I work at a warehouse, you don't want to know how early stores start gearing up for Christmas

Umm, I've been skipping buying the last few good common games so my friends/family can easily find me stuff. So I'm hoping for We Love Katamari, Radiata Stories, Shadow of the Colossus, Fire Emblem and a few other games. Probably some DS stuff too, cause I just got one recently.

Edit: Oh, and I've already picked up 1 Christmas present for one of my brothers. Second Sight for the Cube, I found it new/cheap in a discount bin

*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here

On a larger scale, I mean. It is good for whoever gets the money, of course, but helping one family won't stop world hunger, yes? I don't mean to say it's a waste of money for you or that it isn't a good thing to do or anything.

It's good if you help them to help themselfs. Give them tools and education to prosper. Thats what I think anyway.

What about v2.5? I saw it on the Sony website, added merely a week or two ago.
