Wow. A Diamond For Disease really does grow on me with every listen. This my fifth or sixth time listening to the entire EP. I love it! AND it is EXACTLY 20 minutes long. That's a sign of a well-made EP 20 minutes is perfection. Almost as perfect as Kurt Hennig AKA Mr. Perfect was

Edit: I'm not that much into hardcore-metal at all, but I do really like the song 'Strength Through Vengeance' by A Perfect Murder. Unfortunately, that genre gets WAY to repetative after a few songs through any album, forcing me to stop playing it and switching to a better type of metal, or music. I do like God Forbid, though. They don't seem to be too repetative.

Anybody here like H.I.M.? They're a guilty pleasure of mine. I think 'love metal', or whatever they call it, is lame. Well I've only heard one song, Your Sweet Six Six Six, and I do like it. I am ashamed

The Red Chord's first album is growing on me, also. Track 4 is groovy

Both Machinehead and SOAD are on the mallcore side, but Machinehead is thrash "groovecore" or something. Regardless of their classification, I really don't like those 2 bands.

Whoa, you've listened to the new Arsis EP more than I have already.

I sort of... don't like Manowar's new single. I need to listen to it a bit more but I don't like it as much as I thought I would. Maybe they're just running out of ideas?

Yes, I like HIM. My favorite albums are Greatest Lovesongs 666, Razorblade Romance and Love Metal, however the other two is not bad. Dark Light was kind of a dissapointment, but as long as it's better than Deep Shadows, I'm happy.

Anyone know if the new Pandemonium album has been leaked? It's less than a month from the release date... I might buy the new Arsis EP as well as their debut just for the sake of helping these fellows out, I'm a huge fan.

    Yes, but unintentionally
I left it on repeat and didn't even notice how many times it played, but it still went into my mind and I got used to it more and more. Awesome shit. After I hear the new Hypocrisy album again, I think I might heard ADfD EP again.

From the moment the band started pimping their new album, I knew they were over exaggerating. Admittedly the band has improved, but it's nothing atypical, in fact, it's still the regular speed-fest for the sake of Dragonforce. A formula that is worn by now. To even dare to say this is a revolutionary step, is proof that the band is a group of egotists. I don't really hate Dragonforce, it's just that they've been releasing the same album for 2 years and a bit, and I think they should give it a rest for now, unless they want to turn into the next Motorhead.

That said, this release is their strongest so far. ZP's vocals are more controlled than their previous efforts and the shred crew are in great shape. I could do with less keyboards (or better yet, none at all) and more variety (more of that short thrashy breakdown in track 2, less of the digital effects). But for old fans, this should satisfy.

I know! It's only OCTOBER, and it was set to be released in like, Dec./Jan.
They release music really really fast. Like, albums in 2003, 2004, and 2005. Most bands take their time alot more than these guys. But I'm not complaining. This is really great so far.

Edit: Unfortunately, I don't like this nearly as much as the previous two albums... Great, but not as great as the others. I feel like I've heard the same song 8 times in a row, sort of. It isn't much faster than the other two, like Megalith said. Not disappointed, and I still really like it. But maybe I need some more listens for it to grow on me.

Edit 2: Hahaha, I got caught singing in a really high-pitched voice and dancing like nuts to a Dragonforce song this morning. I'm sure one day I'll look back and laugh aboot it, though. But for now, I feel kind of, weird

So you guys like metal music? Here's a list of some great bands!

    Not too heavy:

    Children of Bodom
    Hypocrisy
    In Flames
    Opeth

Real heavy stuff (Trash, Death, Grind and Gore Metal):

    Cannibal Corpse
    Dying Fetus
    Exhumed
    God Dethroned
    Malevolent Creation
    Nasum
    Necrophagist
    Nile
    Quo Vadis
    Splatterhouse
    The Haunted
    Unearth
    Vader
    Vital Remains
    Vomitory

That's just to name a few cause there's so many great metal bands! Btw, I do like Metallica and a few Hard Rock bands, but I hate New metal like System of a Down (They don't even deserve to be called a Metal band). But that's just my opinion.

Read this thread regularly and there's a few members that know a shitload about metal and they'll give you more recommendations. Half the metal I know I know because Frozen Sky, Soeru, Howie etc. told me a bunch of bands/albums.

    Excellent taste in music!

Anyone listen to Vile? I hear they're supposed to be real good, a dude at the ND/Obituary show I went to was raving about them. I've only heard a few songs from a newer album and didn't find them to be all that special, maybe someone can point me to their best album/songs?

Unfortunately I missed the Danzig/Behemoth show last night, fuck. And what sucks even more: I didn't study at all, so basically I felt useless last night.

Today at college I was hanging out with some dude from my Bio lab group. He's into Slipknot, Static X, and the like... had the short dreadlocks. :/ I'm usually not an asshole towards mallcore kids in person, so we just chilled and talked about class stuff. Then he mentioned that Slipknot play "hate metal", and a lightbulb turned on inside my head. I let him listen to my CD with Hate Eternal's "King of All Kings" on it, and I described it as "hate metal". He was speechless for at least 30 seconds.

Oh and by the way... check out my band of the week.

Rather off topic, but check out the pics of this guitar I'm bidding on on ebay:
    http://i20.ebayimg.com/04/i/05/1b/cd/42_3.JPG
    http://i1.ebayimg.com/01/i/05/1c/bb/60_3.JPG

A little beaten up but I don't care, 'cause I'm getting it for dirt cheap if noone bids more than me. And it's an extremely rare model, I think the seller does not know this, hence he's selling it for $150.
