hi is there any way i can play psx ISOs without mounting them to virtual drives in VGS. I really like the emulator but i dont want to mount ISOs when i want to play them! thanks

Nope there is no way to do that with VGS alone
VGS is one of the more acurate emulators around so it does things that way they do as close to the actual PSX, anotherwords from a CD drive, infact originally you couldn't play backups either with VGS, it was made to only read originals
You can however get nice tools over at http://www.aldostools.com/ to make mounting CD Images quicker
I would recomend
DAEMount 1.6.1 & VGS Autorun 1.2
