Meh, don't shave for a few days and try to get a fake ID. It's worth the try. It might be 18 to drink only... 18 for admission would be ghey, it's not a strip club. (though naked chicks at a metalfest would rule.)

What inthezoneac said is a typical uninformed opinion of the people who don't listen to this kind of music. If you were to listen to some of it and learn about a few bands your point of view would quickly change. Satanism and anti-Christianity/religion is a common theme for many death and black metal bands, but Satanism isn't really taken seriously by the musicians 99% of the time. It's usually just newspapers and tabloids that blow everything out of proportion and make up stories of bands having sacrificed babies, virgin women, etc. A lot of Norwegian black metal bands(Scandinavia was known for many Satanic-related incidents) made claims to magazines and news reporters about being part of a sect or something just to look cool in front of their hardcore fans, just for attention and getting a little more publicity. Lyrical themes like that can be very cool if written well, but I usually prefer more down-to-earth lyrics dealing with anti-Christianity/religion or politics in a more subtle way(ie: Think mid-era Bathory or Amon Amarth, Napalm Death(political)). Still, I love all those evil spritual lyrics from bands like Morbid Angel, the decadent atmosphere the music makes is just awesome, not to mention it's heavy as fuck..

"The Absence" kicks major ass. The intro riff to "A Breath Beneath" is so fvcking awesome. I think they have a slight resemblance to "The Black Dahlia Murder" except they are better

Listening to the first song on the Once Was Not. All I have to say is "wtf"? Starts off weird, but now I can tell that this is indeed Cryptopsy. Chaotic as fuck... This is weirder than Wormed...

Edit: Vader's "Art of War" comes out Nov. 14th. I found a new video and I'm grabbing it right now. The link to the video on their site is dead, but I found it on eMule and I'm sure you can find it on DC++ or something. I await with great anticipation...

Damn that Vader video was bad. But the song kicked ass, can't wait for the new album! Definately much faster and heavier than "The Beast", the blastbeats in that song are the fastest I've ever heard Vader play! Btw, for all you brutal death fans: Deeds of Flesh are coming out with a DVD very soon, and Suffocation already recorded one last month, will be released later this year. Oh joy, it's about damned time that a brutal DM band put together some live material.

2005 is a great death metal music year. There's been like 80+ sweet releases so far that I love.
Vader... even faster blasbeats than the Beast?! I cannot wait. I'm getting it as soon as it gets leaked somewhere, plus purchase the album if it kicks arse.
Cryptopsy's new album is fucking brutal. The song Carrionshine is so fucking heavy.
And I have to admit that even though I'm not much of a pure thrash guy, I really like Exodus's new album.

Oh. Get Crotchduster's album Big Fat Box Of Shit. They play the kind of the same kind of music I do. Hilarious stuff though.

And does anybody know when Helloween's next album will be out?

Anyone have good err.. 'folk doom' bands to recommend? Stuff like Ulver's Kveldssanger, Fjallstorm, Diadema Tristis and Uaral.

Agalloch (but you already know that one, right?) and The Lord Weird Slough Feg (more like traditional doom/heavy metal though).

I have Agalloch's discography minus a few early demos I think, and all of Slough Feg's full length albums except for the self-titled. So yeah, I do know them.

Shit, I had the worst day, I was passing by the civic center in Wolverhampton, and guess what I saw?

    Tuesday 13th September DragonForce.

Damn, the tickets are bound to be sold out, I might be tempted to go by the ticket center, just to see if there is still any.
