First this is why you should not dump games to mdf/mds... for all those game uploaders...

Second get Deamon's Tools and load the game to a Virtual CD drive, and then play the game from there.

    What game is it..?

Also Im not sure which of the files is the image... stupid format... I think it's the MDF... but Im not sure... makesure you try the other file, or just load the .cue if it came with one.

Its Tomba, and its the mdf thats contain all the data and the mds thats the image. I agree its an annoying format, it would be mutch easier if it was cue or iso. When i open it it doesent contain any file i can open with ePSXe.

open the image with ISObuster then you can right click on the CD Drive icon in ISOBuster and extract the image in bin/cue format.

after the bin is fully created it will ask if you wish to make a cue sheet.

You can get ISOBuster from http://www.isobuster.com/

Well you mount the .mds file into Daemon tools virtual drive, yes??
Second thing is to set up your CDR plugin to run your games from
Daemon Tools virtual CD-ROM. You get a black scren if you run your
emulator and your CD-ROM selected in CDR plugin does not contain any games.
If you did this select "File->RunCDROM" and the game should run just fine.

If you have problems try different versions of ePSXe (1.5.2 or 1.6.0) cause
some games doesn't run under v1.5.2 and some doesn't run under v1.6.0

I hope you did a quick set up on your BIOS, GPU and SPU plugins as the
problem running the game may be due to bad plugin configuration.
