    Default emulators

    Hi,

I'm trying to find a emulator for the GBC or GB and it has to work on a Windows 98 computer. I want to know if this is possible and if it is what emulator can I use?

    Thanks,

    JJack2k4

You could use Visualboy Advance or you could look for others at Zophar's Domain.

Visualboy (Advance) or .rew. Both can be found at least on my FTP... now if it works.

doesn't EP have VisualBoy Advance or other GBA/GBC emus in it's emulator section on the main page?

the OS shouldn't really be a problem, the hardware might be pending on how good it is, what that means is the games might run slow, but you'll just have to try an emu or two out to see
So I make games now sort of. Check the out the one I have in the IGF this year, its totally free: www.mackvswindows.com

Yeah Rew is a pretty good GBC emulator. I suggest it for old 'puters.

i don't see why any emulator wouldn't work on 98 really if it's windows based , but visual boy advance should work in any case.

It's about the speed. Visualboy advance may be slow in old computer.

This is just my opinion, but I always did like NO$GMB. It has color/super/gameboy support, link cable feature, game genie, and lots of other nice things.
Oh, from Pong Ping? Let's see what it says.

Don't want to make a new thread, just wondering which is the best nes emu for linux? FCEultra is listed here, but haven't tried it, my friend told me nes emulation on linux is so far kind of buggy, I imagine something out there works halfway decent.

For Game Boy and Game Boy Color, I like BGB (I'm pretty sure you can find it at Zophar's). It may not be the most advanced Game Boy emulator out there, but it always seems to get the job done. Plus it has gameshark/game genie support and some basic multiplayer features. It can do pretty much what no$gmb can do, and you don't have to pay for it. Of course, I never did pay for no$, so I don't know if it becomes superior after you've unlocked all the registration-required features.

    I have Windows 98SE, on a 6 yr old comp (P III, 600 MHz, 128 MB)

I've found these GB/GBC emulators are the best for my comp:
BGB, GEST, KiGB, NO$GMB, REW & VisualBoy with BGB as my personal favorite.
You can get them at Zophar's:
