Some of the Higher Up's have now made it a requirment that you have at least 25 post before you can view some forums.

Sorry about that. Just post a few times in Free For all or general gaming. But please dont try to spam your way in.

Thank you very much Fireblaster! I've got three more questions, I'n supossed to burn the file with the .img, am I right? what should I do with the other files?

And the last one, Should I burn it at a certain speed? I read that some games like the Sega cd's should be burned at very low velocities otherwise they won't work.

Ah! another question, can someone recomend me a saturn emulator?

Sorry to bother you guys and, again, thanks for your help!

    1. You're right, you have to burn the .img file.

    2. It doesn't really matter wich speed you burn it, but it's recommended to burn it at the pretty low speed.

keep all the files and use the cue file to burn from.
The burning software will read all the required files automaticly but you only need to tell the software to read to cue sheet.

Saturn Emulation is at a poor state there is only one good working one at the mo even though there are newer and still in development emu's around

The goodish working one is the GiriGiri hacked/Cassini (Cassini is GiriGiri hacked)

Default Earthworm Jim 2 Snes Problems with Sound

I'm having some problems with the Earthworm Jim 2 rom I got from a Snes Romset.. I've tried it on both the Europe and USA version and they're both the same ( I tried downloading one from this site, but I got the " Page can't be displayed " page ).

Anyway, wether I play it on the computer or on my X-box with the emulator it has the same problem, a lot of the sound effects seem to be missing, such as when he gets hurt, and the Cow that says " Well Done " at the end of the level.. there's no sound there. About the only sound effects that work are when he fires his gun and when he picks up health.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? I'm thinking it's just an old version of the ROM or something.

    Default Earthworm Jim 2

    Hi Xirix,
Earthworm Jim 2 (SNES) is known to have sound problems, at least in ZNES and snesx. So its not the rom which is at fault.

Wether the game works better now with the new versions of ZNES and sne9x, i cant tell you as im not familiar with the sound in the game. You should get the latest versions of ZNES (v1.40) and snes9x (v1.43) and try it out for yourself.

Also someone suggested playing the other ports of this game: DOS, Genesis, Saturn, GBA, Playstation. Though with regards to emulating the game, i would leave out the Saturn version, just in case it doesnt work on current emulators.

I thought of doing that.. It's just a little annoying that my Snes Romset has but one errorous rom.. wether it's the Emulator's fault or not, Oh well. I guess the Sega Megadrive version would be more or less exactly the same as the Snes.

I have one last question, tough, Zorlon, could you tell me how to do that? I've got to drag the cue file onto the recording screen? Sorry if this question sounds stupid to you but English isn't my main language (as you probably noticed simply by reading my gramathical Horrors), could you please explain like you were talking to a 5 years old?

Is there a way to make saved games in n64 stick? Like a virtual memory card or something? I know this isnt exactly necessary but I have a very hard time keeping track of what save state slot is for what game.

Burn CD Image is usually the option to use in any burner, I would be able to better explain this if I know what CD burning software you use

    ...
I will give an example for using Nero though.
Just open up Nero and close any Wizard and New Compilation screens, next click on the File drop down and click on Burn Image..., at that point the software will ask for a compatable CD Image to burn, the rest follows much the same as creating any other CD's

    Hi str8be11a,
im using the 1964 emulator for n64, so can only speak for that but i think that what follows applys to other emulators too.

Im not quite sure what you mean by making "saved games stick", but as for having "a hard time keeping track of what save state slot if for what game", this is altogether not necessary, because each save state (even if in the same save slot) is saved on your computer using the name of the game to which it applies. For example, on my computer i have two save sate files:
    PAPER MARIO-65EEE53AED7D733C.sav0,
    THE LEGEND OF ZELDA-EC7011B77616D72B.sav0.

You see, they both end in .sav0, that means that they are saved in the first slot, slot 0, when you change the save slot, by the appropriate submenu of the file menu of the GUI, to say slot 2, and then you press F5 (quicksave key), that save state will be saved to a file on your computer whose name ends in (more correctly, whose extension is) .sav2

As regards a virtual memory card, to me this suggests using in-game save points, i.e the save system incorporated in the game, developed by the people who made the game. The number of saves you can have then depends on the game in question. And of course they are saved by your emulator, again with the name of the game and various extensions like .sram, .fla, .eep (not .savx)(not sure about .fla and .eep, but definite about .sram).

In any case, if you use 1964 and have not changed the default Game Saves folder, it will be in the in the same folder as the executable 1964.exe, and will be a folder called "save". Here you can "manage" your save states, like stick them in separate folders for safekeeping, rename them, create indexes, etc... But if you want to use them again with the emulator, you must rename them to the original name, like one of the two above, and put them back in Game Saves folder.

So for any game, you can use all the available slots, in 1964, 10 of them. If you want to use more, you have to move the 10 already made to a different folder and you have 10 more. If you do this, you can have an infinite amount, but can only call 10 of them at a time from the emulator.

    Sorry for the length.

Thx for the reply-I use project 64...and maybe somethings just a little screwy. See, I was under the impression that it did that too (saved using the filename of the game making keeping track of save states unnecessary) But I noticed that if i save one game under a certain save slot, then save another game in the same slot, I am unable to load the first save. Maybe I'll Just try 1964.

    Default Emagles Langisser III problem

Emagles, you need to use Clone Cd to burn that game, it is in a clone CD format. The IMG file is the game itself, but the ccd is the control file and the sub file is extra information. What you do is get a copy of clonecd, (you must find yourself), and then open the .ccd file. It is simple once you actually get the clonecd program. The game works, I have played it...I hope you can read japanese because I couldnt figure out thing one in that game
