*sighs* Sorry about this, but I have another question. I've just started trying my hand at using MAME 32PLUS, and so far, it looks like it works. However, I was wondering. Is there any way to set it up to use a game controller instead of the keyboard? I can't play anything with the keyboard.. my hands have a problem and they can't work well enough to do that. I've gone under "Options" and then "Default Game Settings" and even went into the "Controllers" section, but I can't figure out how to set it up to use controllers. Even when I thought I did, when I started up a game, I couldn't use the controller. Even if I COULD use a keyboard (which I can't) I wouldn't know what button does what, anyway. So, is it possible that someone here could help me?

Well, I've tried that now, and it certainly brought up a menu, but I don't understand any of the technical whozzit therein. I tried setting up a controller, but it still didn't work. I thought I did it correctly, but I just made it so pressing left on the controls makes it inset a coin o.O;; Even though I'm POSSITIVE I made the controls be left for left, right for right, up for up, down for down, ect.
Edit. Is there any advantage to using MAME, anyway? Are there any worthwhile games you can play via MAME that you can't play using Kawaks or Neorage X? A lot of the games I've downloaded for MAME either don't even work, or don't show up in the list at all

That sounds like a windows error...

Could you give us some more info, like your system spec's and stuff.

MAME plays a hell of alot more than just Capcom and Neo-Geo games, plenty of games that Kawaks or Neorage X don't support, MAME also has various nice features like a Game Trainer and the GUI can have lots of info for each game including history of the game and the Art work that was on the Machine in the arcades.

Though I was wondering.. are there any 'newer' games that can be played on MAME, or are they all just old 70s-90s games? So far, a lot of the games I've found are either really old, and thus I own them or have played them, or don't work at all. I've found a few 'newer' type games, such as Virtua Fighter Kids, Tekken 2 and Star Gladiators 2, (well, they're newer than games that you can find on the snes and genesis, anyway) but none of those worked. Oh! One more question, sorry.. what are CHDs? I'm currently downloading a torrent that supposedly has CHDs for games such as Street Fighter III, Warzard, and games like those. With these.. "CHDs" or whatever, will I be able to play these games, or are CHDs different than rom files?

For Legal reasons MAME will only go so far but in MAME32 you can look at all the supported games by date if you wish, but myself I can't give exact details to what games it supports because I don't have MAME or any other arcade emu's at the mo, it's been over a year since I emulated Arcade games, something I want to get back into I guess eventually.

Some roms require the CHD files to play aswell as the rom.

So just downloading the CHD files are useless, I take it? Ugh, I just wasted over 400mb of space, then -.-;;; As for Virtua Fighter Kids, Tekken 2 and Star Gladiators 2, yes, I think it said they were missing files, or something. When I audited the roms, they wouldn't work, and had error messages. Oh! Actually, Tekken 2 (and Sonic the Fighters) both worked, sort of.. but the game wouldn't begin. I could load up the game, but there were huge graphical glitches, and the characters never showed up on the screen. The background music was present, though, and I could hear my characters getting pounded on o.o
Edit: I might as well ask. Well, since I have these CHDs now anyway, does anyone happen to know where I could find the MAME roms for any of these games: JoJo's BIzzare Adventure, Street Fighter III, Street Fighter III 2nd Impact, Street Fighter III 3rd Strike, or Warzard? If I have the CHDs, all I need is the rom for it to work, right? Or would I still be missing something?

As you can see I am a noob , but I'm wondering how I can download ISOS from emuparadise.org. I keep on pressing the "click here to download" button but the download button below it never shows up. Any help is greatly appreciated.


Or you can just make it easier and provide me with any PSX FF ISO (7-9).

What browser are you using?
If your using Firefox, here if your problem. Somehow, the script is incompatible with Firefox, and can only work in Internet Explorer.
Try switching if possible, and see if that works.
