Speaking of the shape-shifting Terminator in T2, the actor portraying it is the brother of the Filter lead singer. Hey Man, Nice Shot is about politician Budd Dwyer, who blew his head off with .357 on live TV when I was a kid seeing it live and traumatized about politics and is why I've been a politicophobe my entire adult life. To me politics are the sources of problems not the solutions to them and are a harmful circus with a media circus filming it. Anything that causes people to do what Budd Dwyer did is detrimental to everyone in society and should not exist.

I know deadlegion enough after so many years that it's patently obvious to me he does not trust Windows let alone Android. I'll be replacing my smartphone with a Linux phone, though at the moment I'm uncertain which mobile service provider supports it and I have to read more about it.

    https://pine64.org/devices/pinephone/

I don't trust Apple's apps either and with Linux I have sudo root.

speaking of operating systems I've been wondering for about the last 2 weeks is it possible to install a linux(or windows) distro on an external hdd and boot to it like you would with a separate partition?

Yes, this tutorial is for Ubuntu and can be applied to other distros.

Aliens travelling across vast interstellar distances to visit garbage gardens are sane.

But, considering the crust of space junk orbiting this planet it is a garbage garden. Therefore, the aliens visiting Earth are definitely amongst the sanest beings.

It shouldn't be a problem with eSATA, not sure about USB. Make sure the drive is up to the task.

so people threw a bunch of trash around and called it a park? don't we normally call those places garbage dumps? seriously that's pretty asinine and yes aliens probably do see this planet as one big garbage dump.

it's not esata but after giving it some thought I'm going to do a linux install on my old laptop and give it a try before I commit to it further I only use it as a backup for when my desktop is down but since I installed that new heatsink this thing hasn't had any trouble rebooting.
I know my laptop is old and under powered but it should be able to run a linux distro like the one I have ready I would try it on my old desktop but it doesn't have an hdd or disc drive plus the cpu is weaker than my laptops and I would have to use my monitor or dig out my spare and find space for it so the laptop is a better choice.
