That's for the cliche 'raiders' living in urban areas with no arable land to grow crops so they turn to cannibalism and killing people for their food which includes raider cops. Then you have the glorified raider 'Gunners' that are better equipped which justify it patriotically as a means to maintain a military presence and what's left of a country that no longer exists. With elitist factions living in luxury having orchestrated it all trying to kill all the survivors but not having the manpower to so they use robots and technology which failed the first time and continue to fail because survivors fucking kill enough of the elitists trying to kill them hacking robots and salvaging weapons.

One take-away, robots will run out of ammo eventually so don't destroy them. Dig a large pit in a salvage yard to store them until they can be reprogrammed and salvaged. Outfit them with shotguns because all you need is a pipe as the barrel and shotgun shells are easy to make. Give them a bladed weapon as backup in case they run out of ammo. Include a maintenance sub-routine in their hacked programming so that they repair one another's damage, are functioning properly and undo attempts to unhack each other's programming. Including maintaining their weapons and crafting shotgun shells, and creating the batteries that power them by mining and salvaging.

So, shotgun shoulder weapons. Blade weapon as one hand and hand with digits in the other for tool use. The bladed weapon being a pick-axe as dual-purpose for mining resources to maintain themselves.
