Aye, there are so many good FR novels. It's Salvatore's diversity as a science fiction writer too that makes his work outstanding. There are also epic Dragonlance novels by various authors, which ties into Ravenloft because of Lord Soth the death knight having conquered large swaths of it; Ravenloft has portals to all D&D worlds including Krynn and Faerun. Spelljammer D&D setting also connects Faerun to Krynn via space travel.
