I did come across a cheap used case on ebay don't know if it's a full ATX case or not though I didn't look elsewhere yet.

I do have a 250gb(or maybe it was 500gb I don't remember) that I took out of me dead SS and had been using as an external. I see a lot of conflicting
answers there some say to use the built in backup and restore and just install the cfw pup others say to manually backup folders with the file manager and others saying to use rebugs debug to backup and restore

I don't think you can do that anymore because they force a prime trial(or membership) to get the free shipping. I could be wrong since I haven't ordered anything in a while over $25 that was sold and shipped by them directly.

You'd want to make sure on that. You'll also want to make sure it has standard wiring for the front panel. Thermaltake is the cheapest I see. There's another one with more fan mounts but less HDD cages. Cases suck now .

You would have to check. I'd say probably not but the controller plugin I linked to earlier might have something in there .

The second tower has more mounting points for fans. The PSU shroud sucks up space and eats into the HDD cages though. Options kind of suck these days. A thrift store, electronics recycling place, some junk shop, or a person is probably the only way you'll get anything super cheap.

It should 4.82.1 Lite. It should also tell you in System Info. You should go through this https://consolemods.org/wiki/PS3:Recommended_Setup when you have the time. I'd skip PSN Patch and Movian (you already have a movie box and it undoubtedly uses far less power). I wouldn't bother with step 7 or beyond unless you're interested.

I seen the system fw listed as 4.82 but looking at rebug cfw all I see is 4.84.2 and 4.86.1 lite

I think I updated my systems to 4.84.2 REX a while ago. I'll have to check later.

You can look at changelogs but I don't think there are any major reasons to update at this point. I think I might have done it to enable Cobra to use cheats with Artemis ?

Nope, still on 4.82. I updated to that from an older CFW then, I want to say 4.5x or 4.6x maybe but I don't remember.

Thoroughly read through all the threads. I suggest backing up EDID, NOR, and the recommended setup stuff (to step 4) before doing anything else.

I have I dumped the EID and enabled the QA flag, I backed up the dev_hdd0 folder now I just need the right rebug update pup
