I think your video card has HW for h264 encoding, you'll have to check. If it doesn't, anything uncompressed or using limited compression will reduce CPU load. Disk usage will spike up and you'll want a second hard drive that isn't in use. OBS is a popular one.

so the other day I settled on playing fallout and I was playing it earlier. I encountered a bug that I forgot about since I haven't played it in years. when you leave upper junktown (don't know if the gizmo quest is related or if having a partner can cause it) and enter central junktown the gfx glitch out so you can't see your character or move but you can still open menus
