idk... I'm talking Australian dollars anyway which is relevant for Jase.
Collecting everything you want/need, top tier everdrives. Clones of some basic ED's can be pretty cheap, like ED MD clone.
Pre-covid I was put off by how difficult it was to get hold of the genuine stuff locally and tbh I never liked the idea of ordering expensive stuff directly from Ukraine. Just as bad as Russia but that's a personal opinion.
It was cheaper and easier to get clones. Yeah they definitely have drawbacks but it's a compromise I can live with instead of spending like 3 times the price or even more in some cases.
But it's all different now. War in Ukraine plus the clones have gone up.
There are some improved clones though, I think SNES has a decent clone variant that's more expensive than what I have and has better compatibility.
And then there's GDEmu. The clones work nearly as well and are much cheaper plus really easy to find. For retail games I think only D2 still has issues... RE CV can be patched for clones. Not sure about all unlicensed games though.
