Verbatim doesn't mean they're good quality.
I know for a fact some Verbatim DVD's I've seen in the past were CMC and they were totally legit (not from ebay).

It's like people think Sony DVD+R are good quality discs, they aren't
If you're buying cheap then just get Ritek, they aren't top quality but better than CMC and moser baer.

I've never heard of ritek not sure if i'd be able to find them.
I was thinking of hp maxwell or memorex. I had good luck of with most of these also with phillips.

You could try to clean and polish it but if it's badly damaged I wouldn't expect much.

yeah I've never had that bad of a failure rate before I usually expect a few bad discs but not that many.

Toothpaste method doesn't actually fix anything, it's just trying to temp fill scratches and that shit won't stay like that even if you get it to work..
Novus polish is probably the best bet, but honestly a professional machine works best. Probably not worth it for a game like this though.

Yeah, toothpaste is stupid. It's not gonna fill shit, and it's abrasiveness is inconsistent and pretty crap.
If you're looking to polish a disc and don't have professional equipment, consider a wet Mr Clean Magic Eraser. It's basically ultra fine sandpaper. Wet ultra fine sandpaper also works well.
