Anyway, I tried to use the melted pen cap trick to get the screw off again, but a bit of the pen sealed the screw, so I stupidly used a lighter to try and melt the pen piece, only to melt the back of the game cover...so I slammed the game onto my floor and broke it open, and replaced everything. Luckily, my current Gold copy gave me no trouble as far as opening up with the pen goes.
Except now that broken copy of Gold is no longer sellable due to a damaged outer shell, so I threw it away. Why didn't I use a gamebit screwdriver? Because for some reason, I'm having trouble finding one in stores, and I can't shop online for one because I don't have money at the moment. I was going to gather some game copies to sell, including Pokemon Gold, but there's no way I can sell it now.
Edit: Is it worth keeping the extra circuit board as a possible 'just in case' replacement? Or should I just throw it away, too?
