Pretty sure Warrior has a share on the forums here somewhere.

    Jesus Christ this game

Hey DL, I went straight south from sanctuary just exploring and wanted to get down to the edge of the map. But the edge didn't stop me!!??!? Kept going and ended up at some sentinel place and fast travelled back. I was dodging radscorpions and deathclaws like crazy. Just kept running. Not to mention the radiation storm - 2/3rds of my health were radiated by then. I'm only level 14

The bottom left hand corner of the map?
Yeah there are some locations down there, you'll need to go down there later but I won't spoil it for you
If you wanna explore there best to have power armour or a rad suit at least. And heaps of radaway etc.
You can add some lead lining to clothes/armour and there are some options to increase power armour rad resistance.

You might wanna avoid the glowing sea until you have better equipment, stockpile some chems and have higher lvl and skills.

Have you noticed random rad storms in other parts of the map? That's where they blow in from.

Oh and you might want to make a save before you commit to a faction questline. Minutemen doesn't count.
You can progress a bit into each faction questline before you hit a point of no return (as in it may affect your standing with other factions), but because the story is different depending on what faction choice you make you might wanna make a save and not overwrite/delete it so you can load it up and go through each faction instead of starting a new game multiple times.

    Up to you.
You don't have all the DLC and there are mods as well. Plenty to do in the game

All good on that front. I haven't joined anything yet. I helped out that one Paladin and got his gun but can return to the police station anytime to actually join. Exploring mostly. That's how I found the southwest corner. It's a fair bit passed the dotted line. Can't believe I lived through it. I ran and ducked under things when I could.

I ventured out and took the north border pretty far east and did the same on the western going south obviously. Also done a a good hop south east almost to Diamond city but haven't popped it yet. Still level 14.

I built a cool house for myself too

I'm still really early on. I've read some bad reviews saying it's not as good as 3 or NV but they must be on crack. Game is great.

    That's Paladin Danse.

Yeah people hate on the game but I've had heaps of fun with it, got it asap and got each DLC as they were released.
Even the settlement building stuff is fun.

Just note that if you explore into each game cell it will populate them with power armour parts on frames of whatever lvl you are. If you avoid some cells until higher lvl you will see t-60 or even x-01 armour parts on power frames.

Yeah I'm a buildin. Fallout Shelter prepared me all those years ago

I used the drive-in to get that settlement happiness trophy. Using sanctuary can be troublesome as you don't have any choice with some of the people there, and they can be fucking useless doing assignments anyway.

No worries there either. I have the first frame from the minutemen and found the one standing up in the dirt just a bit east of the first settlement but that's that. I haven't entered or cleared a lot of the map points that I've found. But in the future I can fast travel to a lot of places That's how I approach these games. I'm a hell of a scout!!!!

I have enough parts for a full suit. And most of another for backup picked up here and there. And a healthy supply of fusion cores started.

If you see raiders etc in the wild wearing power armour you can shoot out the fusion core. They'll eject it before it explodes, walk a short distance and then exit the armour.
You can get frames with some armour parts that way...only problem is such frames are marked as stolen and most companions don't like that.
    Spoiler warning:
There is one companion that likes you stealing stuff etc and was a character in a previous game

I don't use companions. Ever if I can depending on the game. A faithful hound or familiar on the other hand..

If you get max affinity with each companion you'll get a unique perk for each.
