SD2VITA uses the game cart slot Did a heap of reading and apparently a lot of them don't allow you to close the game slot cover properly. Also some of them are hard to insert, and after successfully getting them in they get stuck. Some people have even reported their game slot was damaged.
Bare board v3.0 might be the one to try as it might not have issues with getting stuck or damaging the slot, but good chance it will still stick out a little with the micro sd card in it. Some people have filed about 1mm off the end of the micro sd card so the game slot cover can close properly.
The adapter sticking out may or may not just be issues with different adapter versions and/or Vita versions (original vs slim).

I'm glad I haven't bought one yet.

I dislike Beamdog for several reasons so I've not bought them. I also have several copies of the originals and loathe the new UI .

You can cheese nearly every fight in the game with a wizard and time stop. Demigorgon and Melissan are the only ones I remember being impossible to cheese that way. I know a thief can cheese Demigorgon but I'm not sure on Melissan.

Speaking of cheesing games, I was doing it in Divinity: OS earlier.

I successfully trapped some invulnerable enemies by breaking their pathfinding with objects. It was a total waste of time but it was fun to watch them stand still or teleport between their waypoints .

Reloading breaks them out until they hit a block in their waypoints and then back to their cages .
