The partner AI is bad in RE5 because you should use a real person. Apparently

It's the worst on veteran. Normal they won't take as much damage and on pro the enemies seem to ignore her and come straight for the player.

I only have S7 on DVD now (sold the rest) but everything on BD.
One of my favorite shows. I've got them all on DVD, even still have my VHS sets.

I find myself ending up with a LOT of DVDs/DVD sets as of late; wifey keeps upgrading my stuff to Blu-Ray without even being asked!
(Meh, I don't care much either way and can't even see much of a quality difference, but whatever....)

There's a noticeable difference in quality imo, even if you have decent DVD upscaling.
For some DVD sets the remastering was older and BD sets are remastered all over again instead of using old masters.

Of course with some things BD just doesn't exist. Eg: Babylon 5, Lexx (afaik anyway) and some others.

I certainly noticed the leap from VHS to DVD straight away. I was floored, in fact. Just not getting that 'wow factor' between DVD and BR, man. I got the James Bond BR set for Christmas, and honestly I can't even see a difference in picture quality.

To be fair, my vision was damaged a few years back and is far from ideal.

Hmm, I've noticed some interesting things with a couple of the PSOne Classics I've been testing...

The Legend of Dragoon - I'm getting 1080p output from the console FMV especially looks pretty good for a game this old, this is on a 43" panel.
    Parasite Eve II - 720p

There's a huge difference if they don't botch or half-arse it in some way.

Did Sony fix the shoddy handling of PS games recently? Last I knew you couldn't get the correct AR straight out of the system .

Yeah going to get blus eventually but there were $5 a season and legit. Couldn't pass that up.

Yeah for sure. Like there are crappy blus out there but if it was done right it's going to be better. I know a guy that worked in dvd production and he never was happy with it all.

It's a little off for US releases anyway.
I tried G-Police EU and it seems a little better (576p).
TLoD has a "full screen mode" but I turned that off (that was the one that also has 1080p output).

Basically what you get is the same as PSP but 480/576p and upwards output. Also DS3.
The smoothing option, yeah I'm not sure about that. To me it doesn't make the games better really.

As I said PS TV isn't a cheap option for me now, but this is completely free (even the fresh HDD I threw into the spare PS3 cost me nothing).

I guess that's alright. Are they the newer sets though in the plain packaging? The clamshell at work was (I believe) part of the older master source DVD set, if the discs weren't bad I would've got it just for the nice packaging & booklet.

I'm sure I could get more if I wanted to sell them. It's the ridiculous old packaging.

Big robust plastic clamshell case or just the old budget set? Both are old but the former has a nice looking case with a booklet.
