By the crow flys im about...8 miles away from mine (its coupled with the local MET office XD). I also remember him showing me a picture of his bus stop, just had a tarantula casually sitting in the corner of it, minding its own business. I demanded he give it a name.

^ Just one species that we see here but there are others in the same Huntsman family of spiders (all over the country) that look a little different. None of them have toxic bites.

I knowI have no quaral with spiders they help me with my crop as it were ^^ Got a mock widow thats set up next to me actually XD Comes out to suck up the tea from the windowsill, i have named it syral ^^ Every 1 spider you have is 10 less other annoyances.

Well I know they exist but they're very uncommon, even out in the bush. Usually people OS see a pic of one of the huntsman family and think it's some sort of huge deadly spider.
But the tarantulas aren't deadly anyway.
All sorts of spiders are everywhere but I've never seen anybody that has been bitten get really sickPlenty of people have an irrational fear of them though, even folks that have been here all their lives.
Spiders and snakes don't bother me. It's stuff in the sea that kinda freaks me out...jellyfish, sharks and other crazy things that can creep up on you.

Yeah man it's the same over here and we don't even really have venomous ones. The most vicious stuff we have is now is the assassin (small, red with a pink abdomen) , a version of the funnel web (DEEP burgundy colour and looks like a small tank XD) and finally the mock widow (looks like a black widow only different colours). They may make you a little ill but thats about it however media love to scare monger XD "England infested with mock widows and they are killing people!!" Translation: 2 people were bitten, who had cancer anyways with no immune system due to all the keamo and one lost their hand, the other their foot. Sucks but was blown completely out of proportion and because of it "NO YOU HAVE TO KILL THEM NOW!" People really are that insecure XD. Because people dont like to be challengedTell you what, theres a great way to give yourself a laugh with new aged gamers that i learnt from youtube. Step 1) get a POPULAR trendy game from the past (Super mario world, doom e.t.c ya know). Step 2) sit them down infront of that game...Step 3) Laugh or try to kill yourself as they struggle with the first level on EVERY GAME, get angry, say "THIS IS SHIT AN OLD I DONT LIKE IT!" and throw the pad down. Thats why people don't like the controls man, they are retarded and want to be spoon fed, please keep in mind that games companies nowadays reward you for breathing in and out on the game :/ "you took a step foward!?!? have a cookie! Omg you hit your first enemy!?!?! TRUE GAMES MASTER!! HAVE ANOTHER COOKIE!!.....oh...my....GOD! They Accepted their first mission everybodeh!!" *starts fireworks!*. You might also want to take a look into the who makes up the majority of the casual gameing market (same demographic both TV and movies aim for.....), that is again who capcom are trying to target the games for and it isnt working.Liked this post. Particularly the cookies part.

If you kill every spider that comes into your house here you're going to have a bad time. As in dumping a shitload of fly spray everywhere constantly for at least half the year.
Cats kill mice and rats. Spiders kill all sorts of annoying insects, including mosquitoes that can be carrying something like Ross River virus. Certain spiders also prey on other species of spiders.
Flies are a huge problem here in summer.

It's not as much of an issue where I'm at. Outside cats will kill any that cross their path (various insects too, if they can get them) so I've only seen a couple in the last several months. Killing them if I encounter them is easier than trying to determine if it's a recluse.
