Well if it looks fine but is obviously damaged take it somewhere and trade it towards psn credit or whateverI've done that before, notably with AC Revelations 360 that looked perfectly fine but got read errors trying to transfer to HDD.
Spoiler warning:
I'm not a bad enough dude to trade in faulty stuff even if it was a store I can't stand.
Well EB have a returns policy so I'm not being bad to other gamers. Corps have enough $$$ to absorb little things like that.
Spoiler warning:
Anyway, that ACR example wasn't just some random one-off bad disc, plenty of them were around at the time. EB either wasn't aware or didn't care...so why should I?![]()
Spoiler warning:
I actually had to think about that for a bit.
You have a problem taking advantage of big business, but no probs talking down prices with people selling privately?Or is it just your brother that does the dark side?
Spoiler warning:
I feel there's a difference between outright lying and coming to an arrangement.
We got the WiiU at the price they offered, Gyp didn't bother haggling.
There isn't any lying involved. What the fuck is going on over there? Are you required to fill out a declaration that all discs are fully working and tested just before you take them in to trade?
You walk in, say you want to trade and they look at the disc surface.
Spoiler warning:
Most (nearly all) places here test games. I could burn relationships I've built up for like $20 but I'd rather not.
Well local EB doesn't test any game trades. They do a quick visual inspection while you wait.
Badly scratched stuff you get hit with a repair fee but that has never actually happened to me...a few mild marks passes fine.
Consoles are sent off to be tested and repacked. They get preowned warranty.
If you buy a used game you can return it with receipt within a week, or pay extra for disc scratch warranty (doesn't covered cracked/broken discs) that lasts a year.
Spoiler warning:
It's pretty much why I've used them a lot over the years. They don't have good standard prices but sales and the arrangements for used stuff is pretty good.
I tend to buy more new stuff from JB Hi-Fi, which is my local goto for BD/DVD/CD anyway. Also misc electrical stuff, like my last tv purchase.
Spoiler warning:
And I've always had a good relationship with the current manager at EB. Even chat to him about modded systems![]()
