I have seen a video of Halo being emulated, Questions

I have also read on here xbox emulators are worthless due to how an emulator is programmed and coded. I was wondering if anyone had figured out how to play halo, I have Cxbx Emulator and have tried two downloads from this site of the Halo Rom, both coming in 7z form I believe. I have 7z app but cannot figure out how to get a proper reformat for the Rom to work on the emulator. Any help would be much appreciated. I have the File converted all the way to an Iso but I'm not sure what to do after that.

My question is why bother emulating Halo when there's a proper PC version anyway?

Cxbx itself shows progress on there site, but what is shown is from a version that was never released anyway so what you have can't actually do much at all with Xbox dumps unfortunately

The version you have is the 09.02.03 version but the shots and video's are from later unreleased versions, just look at the news feed on the official site to see for yourself

Xeon was the one to be able to play Halo and Halo only and that is not perfect either so still best just to grab the PC version

I would not hold your breath for Xbox emulation though last update they done was 11.03.09 over 7 years ago and nothing new was released so just private builds

If you really want to play actual Xbox exclusive content then best to just buy an Xbox and softmod it if you can't go for a mod chip

Most users that grab xbox iso's/files are Original Xbox owners or 360 owners that have mod chips or software modded consoles
