And I've always like GitS, that has hardly any humour at all.

Sometimes I think serious anime is alright and most of the time I think it sucks. I've never liked Vampire Hunter D for example.

Kind of like Yu-Gi-Oh not being intentionally hilarious .

I more just feel like the comedies use the same shit over and over trying to be funny.

I'm easily amused by zany slapstick stuff and infinitely more forgiving of it.

Back to anime, I never really did typically care to watch anime too much because of what it has to say. It's more like a derpy action movie watch for me (this is most anime anyway, tbh). When I want something serious/message driven (not often), I feel I typically have better options than hamfisted anime messages.
