Even if I weren't supporting them, Ronaldo's comments post match would have turned me. Just about the best player I've ever seen, but darned if he isn't hard to like as a person sometimes. I know he was feeling sour after being frustrated for most of the game, but just mindbogglingly unprofessional. Yes Iceland parked the bus and hardly attacked. But the entire country has a population smaller than Lisbon's, and they were playing against a player frequently cited as one of the greatest of all time. What does he expect? Also, he should be careful what he says about them not going anywhere in this tournament. Greece played a very similar way back in 2004, and they wound up winning the whole tournament... at the expense of Portugal.

Oh, but Iceland started with this whole "anti-fairplay" thing, with Iceland's coach saying "Portugal has no team to go through Euro", among other things.
It's really easy to lose your cool in situations like this and get tilted, when you're against the one team that's been "jabbing" you days before the match.
Unprofessional behaviour, sure, but understandable.

Over here, at least Benfica waits until match is over to "jab" the other team.

I'm with King here, gotta support our friendly neighbours. Not gonna be easy cos a player as great as he can be, and Cristiano certainly is, can't make a team. The lack of a central striker makes Portugal too foreseeable and easy to defend against. I wish them to have the best performance possible in the tourney tho. And let's hope what happened with Greece in 2004 doesn't repeat ever again, that was a shame :/

I agree. No modest team or club will gain my sympathies acting like boasters or braggarts. Being a small country is really no merit per se, work harder and do something worthy to gain some praise.
