Default Having an issue with Digimon World 1 - Green Gym Training/Battle Results

I can't quick cancel the stat gain results. It's like a sort of "freezing" on my inputs (the buttons work normally in the game outside of this interaction.) I was gonna pick up trying to speedrun this game, but this bug seems to be getting in my way. the game works fine otherwise.

    using:

    epsxe 1.9

digimon world disc image file 372 kb (there is also a CCD file and a SUB file alongside it but I'm a huge idiot and have no idea what they do)

    motioninjoy gamepad tool

ps3 controller connected to my computer via USB cord (the one that comes with it; works with my ps3 fine.)

    plugins:
    http://puu.sh/o55oP/19c06e79d9.png
    http://puu.sh/o55rn/946299732a.png
    http://puu.sh/o55s4/c3fa91be98.png

    MotioninJoy setup:
    http://puu.sh/o55yb/cb8db1cf1a.png

I don't remember this happening before when I played the game but I don't remember between now and 2014 (when I last played) if I switched versions of epsxe or somethin', but I think it may be with the file itself, but if not, then it might be the emulator.

edit: pressing the keys on my keyboard as well during the training does nothing either.

Generally you should run a game disc image by it's descriptor file in this case it is the ccd file, normally it's a cue file though

This game however only has a data track so it makes no difference

Emulator version used should be fine compat wise for this game, though there is version 2.0.0 out now that is worth a shot

I am going to presume you made a mistake with the file size though and intended to say MB not KB
Depending on the version you have
US release is 364 MB with a crc value of e6fdd00e
EU release (English version) is 369 MB with a crc value of 028ae52b

Other EU versions French, German and Spanish releases are all 374 MB is size

Unless you have another regional release I would say the image is corrupt

CRC values are not case sensitive so can be shown in caps or lowercase

As the game should just work I can only presume that the disc image is not perfect however the copy at http://www.emuparadise.me/Sony_Playstation_ISOs/Digimon_World_[U]/36777 is perfect as verified by redump (I know you don't have that version as it is in bin+cue not img+ccd+sub)

You are more than welcome to ask more Q's if our image produces the same issues or other issues

Yeah it was supposed to be MB, was posting from phone, my bad.

Also, yeah it's the ccd/img/sub trifecta so I'll give your download link a shot and then get back to you asap.

    thanks for the quick response.

Yeah, it's a no-go, this one is doing it too.

This is the screen I'm talking about for a little more clarity.

You should be able to press Triangle or X twice and quickly get the results and exit, but it's not letting me. I tried starting a new game as well to see if that was the problem, but unfortunately it wasn't.

Can you upload your memcard and tell me what to do from the save point stored on it up to the screen it bugged on

Savestates are no good as they save what is stored in the memory and if the game had bad data that would also be in the save state as well as the emulators state that may of had a flawed setting either way you can't get past bugs from save states asides from anything save states have a nasty habit of corrupting game data to start with

What's a good site to upload to for you? My internet at certain places is kinda poop at the moment (I have to use my phone hotspot when at home because I have no actual internet there), so the upload will take some time. I'm clueless about these sort of things since last time I tried to upload to a site, my anti-virus went berserk, so I'm a little wary.

This one just zip the memcard image then attach it to a + Replay to Thread (the option to attach a file is there)

welp, I feel dumb as heck for not noticing that haha. I was using the quick reply and didn't see the option there.

I zipped both memcards in here but it should be on the first one. you're in the training ground right when you load the game so all you have to do is walk to any of the signs with the symbols on them and press X. (there'll be one with a heart, circle, a lightbulb, etc. any one of them is a training mechanism to grow your digimon)

when you press X there, it'll prompt you for reading what it does, or just continuing and then it'll prompt you again for the lucky chance training (you can test this as well if it helps; slot machines will come up for you to match them and if you succeed your training result stats multiply)

continue with the training and then where you are the game will play animations based on what training it is, and then press either X or Triangle to quick cancel it.

then there's where the problem on my end arises. You're supposed to be able to cancel being able to see the stats count down as they're added to your digimon's stats quickly, but instead it ignores your inputs and takes its sweet time for some reason.

    I can't duplicate your issue

I only played with the bolder thing as that is what you are next to anyway

The bird thing pushes it I press triangle to make it stop (X did not seem to do anything)
It shows the stats change I hit X they tally or I hit Triangle and it skips..
The bird looks like it has a poo or something

    It just works for me...

I use a PS2 pad hooked up via a USB convertor (The one I currently have connected can use two pads, but I have single USB to PSX/PS2 converters also)

Sorry for the late ish reply I don't really get the time I used to to test things for users now

    My vid setup is...

I forgot to take the Special Fixes off but incase you are wondering what I have enabled it was just the FF7 fix the top one, but can't see it making any difference

FPS is also worth checking, if it's too slow or fast that alone can cause problems where the game can freeze/become unresponsive due to sync issues

You can just copy my setup try it then tweak the settings for your use after

I never even look at my older posts don't even remember posting about that to be honest

Joy to keys is worth a try though, though not the only pad mapping program but it still works fine, just a bit old school I guess for some

new 2.0 emulator does it too

    aaaaaaaaaaa

tried using my controller, the keyboard, started a new game, etc.

I'm at a loss. hopefully this joytokeys thing fixes it.

Sorry for double posting again, but I got it working!

I think it had to do with something with having both controller ports open; I disabled port 2 and turned port into the default digital one.

    ran with these plugins/drivers:

    http://puu.sh/odSrv/8b98fd1223.png
    http://puu.sh/odSuM/9772a866be.png
    http://puu.sh/odSvI/219d59d58f.png
    http://puu.sh/odSwe/c98451872b.png
    http://puu.sh/odSxJ/b14fb0b5da.png

nothing short of a miracle, I just tried mixing the previous threads problems and suggestions and eventually got it back to working order. I have no greater idea with what I did so I was kinda shooting in the dark.

Anyway, I'll come back if another issue arises, but for now this'll have to do. Controller works and everything, as does the keyboard.

Thanks so much for all your time and help.
