The n64 analogue stick was great. For about the first twenty hours of the controllers lifespan.

No such thing as too much coffee.

Until you get thoroughly sleep deprived and end up hallucinating conversations with a neon green pelican named steve.

He might be. Not the most talkative bird, that one.

Eveyones controller turned to shit except my personal one, I never flick the stick or treated it roughly.

The damn thing still degraded, I had to open many a N64 controller and play surgeon to remove the scrapped plastic from the stick compartment and slap some petroleum in there to try to reduce the friction.

Was pretty damn good and efficient at it after a while.

Repairing electronics is kinda fun, I remember the time I repaired a school walkman that was supposedly broke and when I told the teacher I fixed it he got pissed and said GIVE IT BACK when it was going to get chucked.

Fuck I used my own tools/home time and solder to fix the damn thing and thats the thanks I get.

I have an atari 2600 6 switch that I need to take apart and see if I can find out why it's not working.

    There's your mistake.

You don't tell them you fixed it, any more than you'd tell your neighbour you raided the pile of stuff they put out for collection.

Hope ya get it repaired, fixing it is what makes all the agony of bending over and screwing around with tweezers and solder worth it .

The self satisfaction of a job well done is quite nice.

I don't like lying over trivial things, I didn't really want the device anyway.

I just wanted to see if I could fix it since I enjoyed doing that kinda stuff when I was younger, daily PSX/chores/making dinner.

    Fun on a bun.
