Default Modded Ps1 - Strange Startup

I just got my old modded ps1 back. It still plays both original and backup discs very well.

I tried burning a couple of isos with cloneCD, the same way I used to do it when I was a kid, and guess what?!

These new ones don't work. The console boots up and the logo doesn't show up, along with most of the letters!

Then it just stays like this forever. Any suggestions?!

I've seen that before...a long time ago. Probably bad quality discs.

    Spoiler warning:

You are burning at the lowest possible speed correct?

That is important as well as what DL said, should research burnable media and see if its good enough for console use.

It could also be lower quality batches from the disc factories.

Yeah but who is it manufactured by?
For example: you can buy Verbatim discs that are CMC, and are crap.

Indeed, I had a field day researching if my verbatims were garbage or not, they run in my PS2 Fat and its dying while other brands do not and official discs are having serious trouble reading now, nuff said.

CloneCD is not really needed either

ImgBurn does every console I can think of burning wise

It may be set to the wrong mode though as any burning software can burn PSX CD images DAO/SAO should be use but TAO can cause issues especially with mixed track disc images (images with both CDDA and Data tracks)

As above the brand plays little part in the quality it depends more on who it was manufactured by

    Mod projects - XBOX
Phantasy Star Online Episodes 1 & 2 - online quests in offline mode packs [COMPLETE]
    [Quest Packs Collection]
GTA San Andreas - Hot Coffee [COMPLETE]
[Mod ready] & [Full ISO ready]
GTA San Andreas - Real Car Names extra content mod [WIP] [Back burner, just won't have the time ]
Please can all ESR users post your results here to help with the project and others wanting to use ESR
