Yeah it being detonated means nothing. They do that to anything suspicious without actually knowing what it is.
There should be more info after a forensics investigation, but that info being in the news is another thing. Sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't

BTW. I survived the bomb threat. Turns out some individual with a driver actually dropped a bomb off in the building next door. He threw it in the revolving doors and labeled it "open me"
